Dear visitors to AAPCHS website,
I am sure that not only AAPCHS members are reading this message, but also those who are wondering what kind of a society AAPCHS is. I am Kisaburo Sakamoto, a cardiovascular surgeon in Japan and the president of Asian Association for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery (AAPCHS).
I founded AAPCHS in 2019 with friends who are also AAPCHS board members, who felt the mission that we who live in Asia should join hands and help each other to continue and improve healthcare in Asia. Although we were caught in the COVID-19 pandemic shortly after its establishment and were unable to conduct the conference activities we had expected, we have made steady progress by holding the first AAPCHS Annual Meeting online in China in 2021, the second meeting hybrid in Malaysia, and the third meeting for the first time locally in Japan. The hard times of interrupting and giving up on many things have passed, and this year we will finally hold the 4th AAPCHS Annual Meeting in Seoul, Korea on May 31-June 1. I am very much looking forward to the 4th AAPCHS, which is sure to be an exciting annual meeting!
The medical situation in Asia varies greatly from region to region, and not only doctors, but also companies and people living there have different ideas about what is best for their lives. The medical situation in Asia varies greatly from region to region, and not only doctors, but also companies and people living there have different ideas about what they want to achieve. As medical professionals, we have a lot to do in Asia.
Please join AAPCHS and let’s work together to make your wishes and everyone else’s wishes come true and change healthcare in Asia.
Kisaburo Sakamoto M.D.
Founding President of Asian Association for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery (AAPCHS)
